Organizers Unmatched Athlete, Movement Hampden, and businesses in the Union Collective invite the public to celebrate the 2nd Annual Union Collective Pride event on Saturday, June 17, 2023. The event will run from 12pm-10pm. The day’s celebration activates Union's participating businesses to affirm LGBTQ+ inclusion by kicking-off Baltimore Pride Week with an all-day fundraiser trifecta for Unmatched Athlete. The fundraiser goes towards organizational support and assisting Unmatched Athlete staff and volunteers. The public is invited to (1) A free climbing day for youth ages 5-18; an (2) evening Stoop Storytelling show at Movement; followed by (3) drag performances at Union Craft Brewing. Current additional sponsors include Union Craft Brewing and GLSEN Maryland. 

1. DAYTIME (12-5PM) YOUTH CLIMBING DAY

The day portion invites LGBTQ+ youth to free climbing. All youths ages 5-18 are welcome to join us for a day of trying out bouldering. Kids in the 5-12 age group would climb from 12 pm - 2:30 pm; while teens 13-18 would climb from 3 - 5 pm. 

Adults and any ally/supporters of LGBTQ+ people are all welcome to attend and cheer on our youth. Event would be FREE for all youths to attend and sign up on Unmatched Athlete’s Eventbrite or at https://UnmatchedAthlete.org/UnionCollectivePride.

GIFT RAFFLE PACKAGES + UNION BUSINESS TIE-IN

 During the event, we will have three prize gift packages: 

• the Sports Package;

• the Union Collective Prize Pack; and 

• the Kids Prize Pack. 

For the day portion of the event, all participants will receive a complimentary raffle ticket for a chance to win the Kids Prize Pack. Additional raffle tickets are $5 a ticket and will serve as donations to our fundraiser.

In addition, Union businesses will be offering day-of discounted items, Pride-themed products, and tie-ins to Pride Week.

1. NIGHTTIME (5pm - 10pm) STOOP STORY AND DRAG SHOW

Unmatched Athlete and Movement Hampden announce a Pride-themed Stoop Storytelling Show at 5:30pm-7pm. Parents’ discretion advised for teen(s) who plan to attend the Stoop.

Like last year, the organizers seek meaningful stories to set the groundwork for intergenerational role models and mentorship. The event is FREE and open mic format – meaning anyone can come put their name in to share their own true, personal “Movement” story. 

The Stoop Storytelling theme prompt will be announced soon. Reserve a seat to ensure you get a seat. Sold out? There is plenty of standing room and floor seating on Movement's padded flooring. 

Then, starting at 7:30pm next door at Union Craft Brewing, the organizers invite the public to a drag show, honoring this year’s newly-crowned Baltimore Pride Festival Drag King and Queen, through the Pride Center of Maryland. Their performances will also be joined by last year’s Festival royalty, Kayden Amoré Chloe and Egyppt Chloe, as well as other drag performers. All attendees will receive a complimentary raffle ticket to the remaining baskets, to be drawn during the show. Additional raffle tickets are $5 a ticket.
